Why would you play more than one multiplayer match? One playthrough of a single player game gives me 10-15 hrs of enjoyment. One match on a multiplayer game gives me 20 minutes of enjoyment. Starting another playthrough or another multiplayer match is just simply more of the same. It's easy to turn that argument on its head.
@BEASELY
These kind of comments always baffle me. A 20 hr. campaign vs a ~20 minute multiplayer match. Both represent the extent of the respective games. It's no surprise that I get bored a of a multiplayer game long before I even finish a second play through of a campaign simply because there is so little content.
I hope multiplayer games evolve into things more like what Destiny promises which provide. Developing a world which could dump you into a ...

Another 2% increase is coming October 2015 to raise it to 10%. A 5% increase in a couple years is pretty crazy. Good luck Japan.
But Halo CE and Halo 2 were PC games, so it is a bit different than Sony putting Uncharted on the PC.
I would disagree with that. Facebook has managed to grow so large that it has practically ingrained itself as an institution for communication on the internet. Half the websites you look at have Facebook logins integrated into them. There will doubtlessly be a new 'thing' that emerges to waste time on, but Facebook won't fade away because of that. Something like reddit might be more likely to fade away in my opinion in favor of something new.
The multiple standards issue is being addressed by Valve by making a VR api to hide the differences between tech and make it scalable for the future. Also, many of the potential VR solutions all share about the same basic physical structure. They seem to take one screen and bisect it to generate the images for each eye.
I would hope that the main players in the VR game realize that they need to share the same boat until VR reaches critical mass.
It's growing everyday especially now that there are at least two big players in the game. There will likely be a lot of buzz about VR from the bigger studios at E3 since we are approaching the timeframe where Oculus might want to announce their content and device.

Jecht Shot was a must for that first game! It was almost impossible to win without that when you first come to Luca.
I remember staring at the Kickstarter during the final day debating whether or not I should recklessly spend 300 dollars after I had just bought the parts for a new computer. I thought it financially irresponsible of me to waste more money at that time, so I decided not to back the project then.
I have regretted that decision dearly for the past 1.5 years.
I always wanted to get the devkit after they startedd shipping, but the wait times were awful and event...

EA securing rights for Titanfall 2 isn't a good thing for Microsoft. It pretty much means that it is coming out for the PS4.
Good to see other people bringing this issue up. I get the feeling that Oculus is aiming for 2560x1600 screen for their consumer version (unless they somehow conjure a a cheap 4k screen).
I am interested in hearing if Project Morpheus is using a 1080p screen like OculusVR's setup where they bisect the screen, or if they are using two 1080p displays for each eye. I hope it is the latter for the resolution benefits.
Heck they could have just changed the age of the characters by a year. Seems like the simplest thing to do to me.
Oculus have stated many times that they want the consumer model to be priced near the devkit. If they can financially go lower they will, as their goal is not simply to just sell a product, but also ensure that VR will expand far beyond a novelty.
543 comments? That's a .184% chance of winning. Those odds aren't terrible. Time to hope for the best.
The main reason all this doom and gloom exists is nowadays is because the platforms are ridiculously similar to each other. This is great from the publishers point of view as they can release on multiple platforms now and more people can play the game, but having more than one console is a bit redundant now given that both consoles get practically every third party game.
It was more fun when you could compare DIFFERENT games on different consoles rather than the SAME game on...
They have sold 50,000+ developer kits, have many big people in the gaming behind them, and keep managing to get more and more investors behind them. The Oculus will come out in the next year or so.
More than likely the LCD panel that they were using is an end of life component now. Given that the old Nexus 7 is no longer in production they can't just buy it off the shelf like they were doing.
@maddskull
I feel the same. Really wish companies would quit removing the original voice work for games. My feeling is that you should always include the voices that the game was originally developed for then add the localization for what region they are selling to on top of that.
It's not that they don't want to do it. They just want to make a game that actually has substance rather than appeal simply to nostalgia. It's hard to make a compelling sequel to an epic and finished trilogy.
Debatable. It's not like Oculus is only just waiting to get their hardware right. They have delayed (set) the launch enough so that there will actually be content on release. Sony needs to secure games also or their device will flounder like most unsupported peripherals. I bet they also started researching their VR solution sometime in 2013 once Oculus really started to become a force, so it is likely that Oculus are still a bit ahead even if they don't have a sizable manufacturin...
